Los marcadores del discurso, también llamados marcadores textuales, conectores argumentativos o procesadores textuales, son unidades lingüísticas invariables y no ejercen una función sintáctica oracional, ya que son elementos marginales y sirven para estructurar el texto y guiar al lector.

Los marcadores textuales no pertenecen a una categoría gramatical determinada. Pueden ser:

  • Conjunciones y locuciones conjuntivas: pero, y, sin embargo, puesto que.
  • Adverbios y locuciones adverbiales: también, ahora bien.
  • Sintagmas: en principio, en resumen.
